Senator Ted Kennedy lost his battle to brain cancer late last night in the Kennedy compound in Hyannisport, after serving closed to 47 years in the US senate. The youngest of Joe and Rose Kennedy’s children and the brother of JFK was influential in legislating in favor of civil rights, healthcare and education reforms to help the less fortunate, as well as defending workers’ rights. Although he is a national icon, he has a special place in the hearts of us, massachussetts’ residents. Mr senator, your work, but mostly yourself will be truly missed! RIP
The first sound bite of anĀ unreleasedĀ Michael Jackson’s song hits the world wide web. Not much is known about its origin or the original recording date but FreshyoungInsight fills you in by letting sample the track. This track is probably the first in a long list to come. The way it’s re-mastered, it sounds like one of Michael’s latter track. You can be the judge by listening here
The latest rumor has Jermaine and Janet in Splitville. There are many speculations over the reason for their separation (Business and private life mix, differences in lifestyles, etc). My idea on the straw that broke the camel back: the release of the Pacman Jones strip club “making it rain video”, where JD can be seen addressing the “dancers”. Pretty tough to stomach on the wake of burying your brother. If you haven’t seen it FreshYoungInsight fills you in here
Chris Brown finally apologized publicly for his role in the incident which left Rihanna bruised and battered. I guess better later than never, what do you think?
The Greatest basketball player ever (and yes I mean Michael Jeffrey Jordan) has added two new athletes to his list of ambassadors. The most notorious of the two is Miami Heat Dwayne Wade who ditched Converse to join the Jordan brand. The second athlete is NFL’s 10th draft pick, wide receiver, Michael Crabtree. Michael attended Texas Tech and will play for the 49ers next season. Both inductees are pictures of athleticism and superior play-makers. Stay tune for the upcoming D-Wade Jumpman release!
To find out more about Crabtree you can read about his college career or watch some highlights
Being an avid basketball fan, I have been keeping my eye on the Vegas summer league. So far, Blake Griffin, the number 1 pick in the draft hasn’t dissapointed. Griffin averages 20.3 points on 57% shooting, 12 rebounds and 3.7 assists. That had me thinking, hum… I need to step my game up. Well, all I’ve got to do is follow the video (lol)
An amateur video of the infamous “make it rain” incident involving NFL player Adam “pacman” Jones has surfaced. Espn’s “Outside the line” obtained the tape which also features rapper and producer Jermaine Dupri and Rapper Nelly.
The voyeur in all of us can watch the “Outside the lines” report here (watcher beware!)
Martellus Bennet (Dallas cowboys player) thought it was funny to do a black Olympics. Most of the media are outraged. You know what? I along with probably most people from younger generations do think it is funny. Matter or fact that is what my friends and I joke about all the time. As a community we have to be able to make fun of ourselves. This looks like David Chapelle material and I think if he had put it out there would not have been such a controversy. Let us be reminded that mexican comedian Mencia jokes about the “Stereotypes Olympics”.
Matter of fact Nas and Busta rapped about it best Listen here
The people who know me, know I’m a huge fan of the Boondocks. We didn’t get a third season but we still need some Boondocks in our lives. This is the reason why I share with you:
