So after much ado about nothing, thanks to “crybaby” James and Nike, we finally get to see the infamous two handed dunk on Lebron.

The Greatest basketball player ever (and yes I mean Michael Jeffrey Jordan) has added two new athletes to his list of ambassadors. The most notorious of the two is Miami Heat Dwayne Wade who ditched Converse to join the Jordan brand. The second athlete is NFL’s 10th draft pick, wide receiver, Michael Crabtree. Michael attended Texas Tech and will play for the 49ers next season. Both inductees are pictures of athleticism and superior play-makers. Stay tune for the upcoming D-Wade Jumpman release!
To find out more about Crabtree you can read about his college career or watch some highlights
Being an avid basketball fan, I have been keeping my eye on the Vegas summer league. So far, Blake Griffin, the number 1 pick in the draft hasn’t dissapointed. Griffin averages 20.3 points on 57% shooting, 12 rebounds and 3.7 assists. That had me thinking, hum… I need to step my game up. Well, all I’ve got to do is follow the video (lol)
An amateur video of the infamous “make it rain” incident involving NFL player Adam “pacman” Jones has surfaced. Espn’s “Outside the line” obtained the tape which also features rapper and producer Jermaine Dupri and Rapper Nelly.
The voyeur in all of us can watch the “Outside the lines” report here (watcher beware!)
You know you’re big time… well when you’re 7′6” (2m29). But no seriously, when you can afford to buy your former basketball club. That’s just what Yao ming did when he purchased his former employer. Running the club will cost approximately $ 3 millions while Forbes estimated Yao’s income at $57 in 2008. Whatever Yao does I guess he’s doing it big.

You’ll find that I get on male athletes a lot for their nonsensical behavior. But you know what? FYI is an equal opportunity website. WNBA star Diana Taurasi has been suspended by her team after she was cited for driving under the influence (DUI). She faces 3 charges including extreme DUI. Extreme? Indeed, extreme lack of judgment!
Former Bronco Travis Henry was sentenced to 3 years in jail for financing a coaine drug ring. According to Henry, he needed the money for child support payments (he reportedly has at least 9 children by 9 different women). The judge said it was because he’s a “weed head”… Anyways it looks like the end of a long road marred by run-ins with the law.
Black athlete have to do better than that. 9 out of 1o made the list of the “top 10 athletes who are dead beat dads”. Read here http://www.totalprosports.com/blog/index.php/2009/03/top-10-athletes-who-are-deadbeat-dads/
Richard Jefferson, new member of the Spurs has the San Antonio blues. RJ ditched both fiancee and wedding guests when he decided to not show up for his own wedding. Thankfully, sources say that RJ was magnanimous enough to lend his ex, his black Amex Card to treat the guests to a night of fun. Dumped at the altar but gracious host.
I wonder if they played this track during that night of fun? Guess which song it is.
Originally scheduled to attend Duke next season, Andre Dawkins has been cleared by the NCAA to join his school of Choice for the upcoming basketball season. Check him out, he’s pretty good and he better be, to compete against “my” school and current NCAA champs: UNC BABEEEE!!!
Ever since he joined the league, we’re used to T-mac doing work wearing the number 1. This upcoming season it’s all gonna change. No, no, it’s not another player trying to boost jersey sales… T-mac will be wearing number 3 to bring awareness to his Darfur humanitarian project. 3 is a reference to the three points goal of “Peace, Protection and Punishment”. “3 Points” is also the name of the documentary shot during McGrady’s visit to refugee camps. You might not like the player but the man deserves 3 cheers for caring.
